A Gentleman's Dignity

At the age of 40, ang pinakaiingatan ng isang lalaki ay ang kanyang dignidad.

It’s another Korean drama I that just finished watching and loved. It didn’t appeal me that much at first but because ABS-CBN always shows its trailer on commercials I was convinced to watch it since it doesn’t look bad at all. So I watched the pilot episode as it is also in between of Paraiso and Secret Love Sungkyunkwan Scandal which airs every weekday afternoon at ABS-CBN. It also became a part of my afternoon habit.

A week after finishing Faith of Lee Min Ho I looked for something funny to watch at the internet.  And a week after watching A Gentleman’s Dignity on TV, I was hooked and thought why not watch the full series already. And so I did. I loved it from the beginning til the end. It was so funny and romantic. I only cried on the part that are really too touching and laughed the whole time. There was never a dull moment. I love how the main male lead gets jealous and the female lead acts when she’s always caught on her lies.

The characters are all awesome. The friendship of four men is admirable. I think those kind of friendship are rare nowadays. It’s funny how their friendship started over a nonsense fight when they were in high school. And though they have great individual differences they remain and even became stronger as decades passed by. And their leading ladies made a great role in making these guys a real gentleman. Moreover, they are still very charming specially the main lead despite of their age. Their immaturity are cute as well.

I really like this drama because of its story. It made my intent of becoming a bachelorette firmer. It shows love knows no age. So live your life to the fullest and enjoy your youth. Be good cause what you’re doing in the present and have done in the past will have an effect in your future.

I also love the dialogues in this drama. But this one retains in me because what I admire is the friendship more than the romance of each character in the drama. "Sometimes adolescents fight for no reason and become “we” for no reason. When adolescents become "we", they’re also called another name, “friends”.  Only then do adolescents become special."  : )

Reminiscing.....

The ladies of our gentlemen.
“Adolescents never become mature. They just get older. However, adolescents who have gotten older know how to go a different way and how to shine a different colour. Thanks to these women, we were given the opportunity to be gentlemen instead of just ordinary men. That’s why we’re able to say “Goodbye, boys”."
- Kim Do Jin

One of the funniest scene. So cute how Do Jin got jealous because Yi Soo is smiling with a man in the car so he bumped it intentionally.
Im Tae San and Hong Se Ra.  A wealthy  hot-tempered engineer and a professional liberated golfer.
Lee Jeok Rong and Park Min Sook. A flirty cafe and bar entrepreneur married to a strict and feisty wealthy landlady of the whole street.
Choi Yoon Yi and Im Meah Ri. A smart and kind but lonely attorney and a young woman who dream of marrying this man all her life.
Kim Do Jin and Seo Yi Soo. A flirty successful architect and the goddess of ethics teacher. My favorite love team in the drama.

I want a video of the four gentlemen together but there was none in Youtube right now. So I'll just leave this video soundtrack of AGD.

Everyday

My Love. I got lss in with this song.

Lee Min Ho

In Boys Over Flowers, I was not really that attracted to him yet. I actually prefer Kim Bum over him in F4 that time. When I watched Personal Taste I begin to notice his sharp nose. Then the way he smiles and acts. I find him really handsome this time. In City Hunter I became addicted to him. This is the time that I said I want him. I fell in love with his moves and his charms in City Hunter. He's the first Korean actor that made me go crazy.  He's overly handsome and manly and I especially like his nose. Watching his interviews and behind the scenes in his dramas, I saw a glimpse of his personality. He is a gentleman, sweet, caring, humble and very nice person. He goes along well with other people and fun to be with. With these traits and his looks I can say that he is my ideal man.

Thank you for coming in my life Lee Min Ho. And thank you too for coming in Manila. So glad that I had the chance of seeing you in person though I wasn't able to get really near you.

I didn't expect that I'd be this gaga over him, really. Imagine after knowing that he'll visit Manila I ran to Bench store immediately to shop just to get invites to see him. I even lined up in a very long line in Araneta Coliseum which I don't have a patience in doing so but I did just to see him. And then the Fun Meet left me hanging so I also went to Mall of Asia for his mall tour. His fun meet in Manila left me more admired of him. I just witnessed how nice he is aside from being handsome. He knows how to treat his fans very well. He made me want him more and I'm sure everyone else in the event too. He was so game and enthusiastic to play with his fans. He's so humble despite of his popularity. He's honest in answering all the questions thrown at him. And he's caring too, he always thinks of the safety of his fans. Such a sweet man. He always make a connection with his fans despite of the language barrier. And that left his fans like me screaming unendlessly in every move he does and every word he speaks.

Here are some scenes in the Fun Meet at Araneta Coliseum.

Our invites and tickets

Pictures of Lee Min Ho being played continuously while waiting for him to come. What can you say? So handsome right?! Picture pa lang pamatay na.

Performances of K-Pop Music. Such are Nobody of Wonder Girls, Sorry Sorry of Super Junior and the newest hit Gangnam Style.

And here he comes.

Lucky winners who got  up close to him. He even gave each one of them a hug, a handshake and a photo op.

He really loves his fans so he asked to have a picture with them all.
And as he said and as suggested by his fans he had Adobo for dinner that night. A man of his word.

Saranghae neol saranghae

Saranghae neol saranghae. This is a part of the lyrics of the song I've been really addicted so much up to now. Before I  sleep I would play it on my phone and when I wake up I'll listen to it first before I get up. Though I don't understand the meaning of each word, I know what is it about. I love how the singers sang it and the instrumentals accompanying the song. Well what else could this song be? It's the Chajatta or Found You in English by JYJ, a group which Yoochun my love is in. Why is this song so addicting? Here listen to this:

Its the soundtrack of Sungkyunkwan Scandal. A korean drama by Park Yoochun and Park Min Young with Song Joong Ki and Yu Ah In. Its a historical drama about love, friendship, ethics, morals, principles and politics. Its very educational too its not just an ordinary story between a guy and a girl. I got really addicted with this drama and I think it surpassed my number one favorite which is the My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. Every episode got more and more interesting. The twist and every occurrences in the story was awesomely  delivered. Its really breath-taking and it never failed to surprise me.

I love the cast as they suit their role very well. Each of them gave an impact to the audience. As to Park Min Young it is given, she's really a very good actress. She's so blessed for being matched with Lee Min Ho who became her real boyfriend and to Park Yoochun, the two guys I admire so much. I wish I could be in her place hehe.

Now I would like to talk about the boys. The Jalgeum Quartet. If I was also living in that time with these guys around I'll go gaga for sure. They are so handsome and of course Yoon Shik who is a girl is so pretty. Each of them has a distinctive character which made their friendship bloom unexpectedly. This drama is a good debut for Yoochun. I love him more because of this, he did it very well for a first-timer lead. An upright nobleman who stands for the right and the truth. He who has never had friends, he who has lived his life in books has finally experienced living a life when he entered Sungkyunkwan and met Kim Yoon Shik. Geol Oh Moon Jae Shin who never cared for anyone even in his self has become compassionate and soft when Kim Yoon Shik arrived. And despite discovering the true identity of Yoon Shik, he did protecting her more. Now my favorite character Yeorim Gu Yong Ha.

Yeah, picture of him alone cause he's my favorite character. Like everyone else who has seen the drama, I too was captivated by his charms. The way he moves, the way he speaks, the way he thinks, the way he acts, the way he dresses I love them all. From the start he have thoughts that Yoon Shik is a girl and though having no proof he just secretly remained silent about it but observant of it. He's so admirable for making unexpected or surprising things specially when they are always being caught. He creates ways to get out of the very tight situation in which you never expected. He's one of what makes the drama interesting. He is Gu Yong Ha.

While watching Sungkyunkwan Scandal, I felt like I was also one of the scholars. You'll get lots of learning from this drama. I'll give a 100% grade for them. From the beginning til the end you'll never be disappointed. You'll fall in love in every episode. Especially at the finale. The best ending that I've watched so far.

Here are pictures of some scenes in the drama.

True friendship

This is when Yoon Shik slept in one room with their other friends

Ayyyyiiiieeehhhhh

That's a man

Waahhhh the best finale

I love Sungkyunkwan Scandal so much!
