Lee Min Ho in Manila 2014

Last February a very shocking announcement from Bench and Wilbros had made me heart-attack. And I'm sure people out there who loves him had felt it too. A sudden post that Lee Min Ho is coming back to Manila in March 2014! Who wouldn't be surprised by that?! Especially if it's a month to go and further details has to be announced yet. First time I knew it I really wanted to go, forgetting that it's not in my budget that time as I have a Macau tour this March. But as days passes I admit I waver because I really needed to save for my trip. But how can I resist him? I just can't. So, I pushed it till the end.

It happened last Friday night, March 21 which is my birthday at Smart Araneta Coliseum where his first fan meeting in Manila was also held. Because of that I have to move my plans celebrating my birthday with my family to the next day. But that was okay, we were able to watch pyrolympics at sm moa. And I enjoyed that day spending time with my k-pop friends as well.

I also think of it as another gift from God. Bringing Min Ho back to Manila on my birthday. This birthday is really awesome. Just to bad because I was not that blessed that day. Again, I didn't have the chance to get close to him. Kahit selfie lang wala. Poor me. :(

Going back, I think the first fan meet was better. There were more contests and prizes of getting close to Min Ho. I think it's more fun. And, it's still better to draw winners through electronic raffle than selecting on the audience. Pano naman yung mga fans sa malayong seats, right? What I like most in the mechanics of going to his fan meet is to just buy products of Bench worth 1,600 pesos for patron and exchange to free tickets. At least it's not that pricey. It's like a bonus when you shop.

Regarding the fan meet again, what I mostly enjoyed in this fan meet was the performance of Philippine All Star who danced to the latest K-pop hits. Geurigo, Min Ho learning Tagalog phrases and him teaching the crowd of Korean phrases. The question and answer where we saw his perv side but still cute. Hehehe. Asked if he would be invisible what place would he go, he answered to the women's public bathhouse. Why? Because he wants to know what women are doing inside. As for the creative contest where it's like he's choosing his date depending on the creative answers of the three girls, I think I really should be there. I came up with creative answers easily.

Firstly, I am so  in love with Lee Min Ho because.... I just love him. And I prefer to come to his buwis-buhay fan meet on my birthday rather than relaxing and celebrating at home.

Secondly, what role would I put him if I'll be the director/producer for his next project? Instead of a prince, I would prefer the king. Or a kontrabida (antagonist) or someone who's evil but will turn into a good man after meeting his girl. I think this kind of role will make him more versatile. Isn't it? :) And I like to see him again doing some action like what he did in City Hunter. He's really cool there. It's the drama that made me crazy about him.

Thirdly, where will I bring him if we were to go on a date? Simply, Manila. Why? It's were I live. I want him to experience living the life of common people. Why? Because I bet it's the thing that he hardly do. And isn't it that he like to have a chat with common fans comfortably? I would love to see him riding a jeepney and kalesa. Especially if he will pass the fare of riders to the driver. Bayad po. (imagining)

So, those were my answer if I was chosen. Kaya lang hindi eh, kaya dito na lang.

The show ended in an hour. He sang a ballad song and waved goodbye.

I prefer looking at him personally than on screen. He's much better on person. I'm happy that this time I am closer to the stage than before. I hope next time I'll be at the backstage or at the very front of the stage or to get a chance to be on stage with him at least. Haha.

He will stay in Manila for three days doing interviews, endorsements and mall shows. I hope he'll get some rest at least. He's been so busy lately. And he just came to Manila on the day of his fan meet. Mr. Ben Chan, don't stress him too much please. :)

I hope he'll be on Macau too when I go there. I would like to see him again.
How I wish, right?! Haha

The Master's Sun... Super love for the year 2013!

The Master's Sun
Yi Ryeong, Joong Won, Tae Yang, Kang Woo

My favorite drama of the year. Fortunately I decided to watch it before the year ends. At least there's one more beautiful drama to remember for the year 2013. A very entertaining, scary and romantic drama which you'll want to see over and over again. Scary on the first episodes but it'll get a little lighter later on. Or maybe you'll just get used to it, of the ghosts popping anywhere, anytime with the lead. And besides though it's a bit of a horror genre, you'll like the stories and get touched of those ghosts that the lead can see. I also love how the two leads fell in love with each other.

Tae Yang likes holding hands with Joong Won while sleeping
Starring So Ji Sub as CEO Joo Joong Woon and Gong Hyo Jin as Tae Gong Shil or Tae Yang as they call her which means "sun". Although these people are new to me, seeing them the first time made me love them. They look good together and they got me lots of  butterflies in my stomach (super kilig). Especially on the scenes when they do unusual things that shows care and concern for each other particularly Joong Woon to Tae Yang. And also, I like the funny scenes like when Tae Yang got drunk and different spirits enter her body. She became a dog, a cat, a French lady, a kid and a lot more. It's really funny. To drive those spirits away of Tae Yang's body, Joong Won would hold her hand and sleep together.

The story goes with a girl who was able to see ghosts after she got into an accident, met a greedy CEO who own malls and hotels in Korea on a rainy night after doing a favor for one of the ghost who consistently bugs her. As she accidentally touched the CEO, the ghost disappeared. Another incident happened again when she was being chased by the lady ghost, the CEO watched her running and came to her and then when she
hugged him the ghost disappeared. Tae Yang realized then that the CEO was her safe hide out from those ghosts. Whenever she touches him, the ghosts just vanishes away. So she follows around the CEO and even got a job in his company. From a mall cleaner she was made into a special customer care representative wherein her special customer are all ghosts. The CEO believed her ability of seeing ghosts and even help her on her ghost missions. Swearing that she'll never like Tae Yang, he was  unconsciously slowly developing feelings for her. Whenever Tae Yang looks scared, he offers himself to be touched by Tae Yang and sometimes he just hugs her. They
became really close and got to share their weaknesses with each other. One time, when Tae Yang was doing a favor for one of the ghosts, she was harassed by a man and by the time the man will stabbed her the CEO came to the rescue. Tae Yang met the CEO's spirit confessing "Saranghae" to her and then he was gone. This was a very heartbreaking scene. She thought he was dead. And he thought he was dead too.  But when she found out that the body was still alive, she sacrificed herself to call the spirit of Joong Won back to his body. When Joong Won woke up he doesn't remember anything about Tae Yang. But whenever she sees her, he felt something in his heart. Joong Won then found his missing memories later on. But Tae Yang wants to go away from him. She doesn't want Joong Won to be harmed again because of her. And also, she wanted to be a normal person and to do that she had to find out what made her to see ghosts when she woke up after her accident. A year later they met again. Tae Yang became a better and successful woman. But her ability to see ghosts remains. She and the CEO dated and became couples for real.

I like it when he kiss her like that. So sweet. :)

Aside from the two leads, there are other stories in the drama that was cute too. I just didn't mention them but I also like Kang Woo and Yi Ryeong's story. I wanted this drama to have a part 2 but if it'll just ruin it like the other drama that has a part 2, then I'm okay with this. I hope this will also get aired in the Philippines. I like this drama more than The Heirs. The lead girl may not be as popular as Park Shin Hye overseas and as pretty as her, but I like her charm as she portrayed Tae Gong Shil than PSH's Cha Eun Sang. The trademark I'll remember about Joong Won from this drama is his "ko jo" meaning get lost and the way his hand moves with it. And I remember Tae Yang would never go and will always come instead.

This drama has also pretty soundtracks. I love listening to those. You'll really get moved by it. I really recommend this drama to everyone. I'm pretty sure one who watches this will love it too.

I will leave videos of this drama for me to remember it someday and for the others to enjoy.

Touch Love by Yoon Mi Rae. Super sweet song.

You and I by Hong Dae Kwang. This was usully played with Kang Woo and Yi Ryeong in the drama. Just can't find videos of those two.

Day and Night by Gummy. So emotional song.

Hyorin of Sistar's Carzy of You. Another emotional song from the drama.

Enjoy!

Autumn Concerto.. I Love You So... Vaness Wu

Recently I heard the news that Vaness Wu already married his long-time Singaporean girlfriend. I suddenly missed him and the times how I really liked him during and even after Meteor Garden days. I really really liked him that I still have his pictures I collected when I was younger and even have a copy of his album though it's just a cassette tape. I was only in high school back then and if only I had my own money that time I would even come to his concert when he visited Manila. All Vaness memories and Meteor Garden times flashed on my mind after hearing news of him. And since I'm looking for another drama to watch for and I really wanted to see him again, I decided to watch Autumn Concerto. I wanted to see this Taiwanese drama even before, I just don't know why it took me so long before I finally decided to watch it.

Vaness Wu looks really amazing in this drama. I still got the chills and shivers while watching him after eight years. Probably it's because this drama was shown earlier than the years that I haven't seen him. Or maybe its just that I really like him because it's his attitude, his confidence, his skills, his smile, his image that I like the most. Good thing that he was given a chance to star in his own drama. And his partner Ady An was good too. I wish to see him on another drama again.

Anyway let's talk about the drama series. First, let me just mention that Meteor Garden started my addiction to Asian dramas nowadays. Taiwan dramas were my first love. Starting with Meteor Garden of course and its sequels except for the part two. Then there's It Started with a Kiss, Westside Story, Hana Kimi and The Fierce Wife. And now I will add Autumn Concerto to it. Another unique story that is heart-melting and truly worth watching. It has a very deep story and I'm happy that it ended very well. Everybody is happy.

The story was about true love which never faded after years of being separated and being forgotten by the one you love. A typical love story at first where the rich guy fell in love with a poor girl who changed the way he was and became a better person. And the mother of the guy who didn't approved of their relationship. Ren Guang Xi played by Vaness Wu and Liang Mu Cheng played by Ady An. Then the heartbreaking revelation that the guy has brain tumor and chances of living is very low. Mu Cheng stayed with Guang Xi even after knowing his condition and took care of him giving him courage to fight for his life. But then, she have to leave Guang Xi for him to have a more advanced surgery which can save him more than the usual brain surgery method. She left not knowing that she's pregnant. After the successful surgery, the guy had forgotten everything and has to start over like a child. Another girl He Yi Qian was on his side whom his mother wanted for him and they didn't talked about Liang Mu Cheng to him. In six years he became a very successful lawyer and was engaged to Yi Qian. But then a sudden happening made him come to Hua Tian Village where Mu Cheng and their son Xiao Le was living. When he came to the village he was quickly recognized by Xiao Le as his father.

Xiao Le
Mu Cheng was even shocked that Xiao Le came home with Guang Xi telling that his father came. Mu Cheng denied it and since Guang Xi doesn't have memory of his past he also explained that he is not his father. Without having an idea that they are really father and son, they had a very close connection and affection to each other. They lived altogether in one house and discovered things that Xiao Le and Guang Xi have in common. When Guang Xi has to leave the village and prepare for his wedding with Yi Qian, Xiao Le was crying hard while chasing his car. Even Guang Xi can't looked at the child and burst into tears while driving. A day after, Xiao Le went to Taipei to look for Guang Xi. There, he met his grandmother which of course he doesn't know yet. He collapsed while walking in the street and was rushed to the hospital. Xiao Le needed a blood which should not come from his relatives for his operation. Guang Xi volunteered after knowing that they have the same blood type but was refused by Mu Cheng. Guang Xi's mom and Yi Qian was suspicious of Mu Cheng's refusal. They made Guang Xi's brain surgery an excuse so he cannot donate his blood. Hua Tuo Ye who was Mu Cheng's best friend who took care of them ever since was the one who donated his blood to Xiao Le. A day before Guang Xi and Yi Qian's wedding, his memory of past came after seeing couple pictures of him and Mu Cheng. He became very angry on how people around him made lies about his past and the wedding was cancelled. He was also very mad at Mu Cheng when he remembered how she left him during his day of brain surgery when he's begging her so much not to leave him and chased her at the streets and got stabbed by Mu Cheng's step father after. Guang Xi wanted to fight for the custody of the child but Mu Cheng cannot give it and almost got married to Hua Tuo Ye. But Guang Xi made a way to persuade Mu Cheng to marry him for Xiao Le. And they got married but remained cold at each other. As times passed there were happenings that made them close to each other and even confessed what they really feel. They had good times like what they had six years before. But was still challenged because of Hua Tuo Ye's condition. Tuo Ye was accused of murdering so Mu Cheng hurriedly went to Tuo Ye. This was misunderstood by Guang Xi and did not accept Mu Cheng's explanation. He promised to defend Tuo Ye in his case and after he will prepare their divorce. In the end Xiao Le played as cupid to reconcile his parents.
Great Drama. Two thumbs up :)
Guang Xi and Mu Cheng was tricked that Xiao Le was kidnapped and demanded them to do silly things like exchanging of rings in front of the church altar and taking pictures as proof that they did. At that time they both secretly know that they were being tricked and someone's watching over them but still played with it. Mu Cheng have finally expressed everything to Guang Xi and asked him not to leave. And so, since Guang Xi loved her dearly, he accepted Mu Cheng's feelings.

Happy ending. Happy family.

I already miss this drama and play its songs over and over. I am actually losing bit of my Korean lessons because of this. The song from The Fierce Wife also plays in my mind after watching it. I don't know why.

I really love the story and how everything went. I love the people around them like Yi Qian and Tuo Ye who were very understanding to  let go for the happiness of their loved one. They did not became a burden to the two leads but instead they supported and cheered for the happiness of the two although its hurting them inside. It's just that them, Guang Xi and most specially Mu Cheng keeping their true feelings and afraid of asking that made their love story complicated. Lesson: in love you have to be courageous to ask, to answer, to trust, to show what you truly feel. Do not make assumptions. You will never know the truth if you don't ask.

One more thing that I love about this drama is that their love story was fully blossomed after having their child. Vaness looks adorable as a father. No wonder it is the second highest rating Taiwanese idol drama following Fated to Love you according to wikepedia. Haven't seen Fated to Love You yet so I think that will be my next T-drama to watch. Let's see if it is really that good. Hmmm...

49 Days. Pure Love.

Titled as Pure Love when shown in the Philippines in 2011. I've heard this is a very good drama since then but I had not watched it because it was shown very late at night and I'm not a K-drama addict back then. When I became addicted to K-dramas, this was included in my list to watch for but still have not got to see it because I can't find a site where I can watch this until this week after finishing I Hear Your Voice I finally found one.

This is a very good story and so far the most heartbreaking drama I've watched. The story is about Shin Ji Hyun who got in car accident and had her soul separated from her body. In order for her to return to her body and come back to life she has to collect three tear drops from non-blood related people who loves her truly for 49 days. It may seem easy but it is not. As for her, having two best friends and a lot of people who likes her and have friends with her, she had difficult time looking for it. So after watching this drama I had this realizations. If I were to be a 49 day traveler too like Shin Ji Hyun was, will I be able to collect even a single tear drop? Will someone cry over me because they loved me truly, not just because of sympathy? Shin Ji Hyun's character is a bit too far from mine. Much much better than mine, if she had difficulty then what about me? It was really a difficult journey. Now, I think I have to live my life not just thinking of being a good person but acting as one.

The strength of this drama is it focuses more about life, family, friends and nature of people more than romantic love. How can you protect the people you love without hurting them. If your fate has been given, how will you deal with it. At the latter episode I've cried so hard that I've became tired and dried all my tears up. And as I've said it is the most heartbreaking so far. Why is it? Because in other dramas at least the leads got to find and come back to their loved ones whether it is in the present or future. But in here, they separated forever. But then, death doesn't mean the bond between them was broken. That's the saddest situation I think, when someone you love left this world. It's better to lose the person you love by breaking up than them leaving this world forever.

The person whom you thought who hates you is actually the person who really loves you.
Ji Hyun and Han Kang.

It's a sad drama that mirrors the reality of life. Although it is sad, I like it because of its essence, of what it wants to deliver. See, I have these kinds of thinking after watching it. This drama also reminds us that our life is just borrowed from God. We must make good use of it because we don't know when he will take it back.

The handsome and cool Scheduler. Song Yi Soo.

The character I admire most. Shin Ji Hyun.

I love the story about Ji Hyun and Han Kang and Song Yi Kyung and Song Yi Soo, the twists where she remember her 49 days journey, that Scheduler is Yi Soo and Yi Kyung is Ji Hyun's lost sister, the characters and the portrayal of the actors, the song and everything. Here, I'll leave some songs that I really like from the drama.

Can't it be Me? Han Kang's love to Ji Hyun.

Tears are Falling. The story of Song Yi Kyung and Song Yi Soo. The most heartbreaking love story.

Can't Forget You. The song that always makes me cry whenever played in the drama.

Nothing Happened. Another sad song.

I recommend everyone to watch it. Although the story and ending is sad, it's worth watching and still lovely.

Kang Chi

Just finished watching 24 episodes of Gu Family Book starring Lee Seung Gi and Bae Suzy. Phew! That was long. I managed to finished it in 6 days really finding time to watch this drama behind my work schedule. The day I first watched it, I cannot let go of each episode of it. Though the story is quite long and being a melodrama-historical-action genre it didn't bore me at all, unlike the others that I've seen with the same genre. I greatly recommend for people to watch it. Worth watching.

Yoon Seo Hwa and Gu Wol Ryung
Kang Chi's parents.

I cannot count the times I cried and laughed and amazed by this drama. The story is awesome from the start until the end. The story of Kang Chi's parents was so heartbreaking. Wol Ryung, the divine creature who is Kang Chi's father had turned into an evil creature after being betrayed by Seo Hwa, the human, mother of Kang Chi. After giving birth to Kang Chi, he was found by the businessman Lord Park Moo Seol in the river and adopted him. The lord had treated Kang Chi as his own son. The lord's character here is so warm, kind and great. He helps the poor and always willing to help. But the monstrous character Ju Gwan Joong killed the lord and take over the lord's business and properties. The same event as with Seo Hwa's family happened to the lord's family.

At first we'll see that Cheong Joo was Kang Chi's love interest. She was the daughter of Lord Park who was sold as a gisaeng after the lord dies. And by the way Kang Chi and Yeo Wool played by Suzy had many encounter during this time. They've been helping each other and of course often see each other which leads to Yeo Wool developing her feelings to Kang Chi and discovering that Kang Chi was the child who protected her when they were still little and the reason she learned to use the sword. But when Kang Chi was already able to show his divine creature side, Cheong Joo threw rocks at him and ran away from him but Yeo Wool protected him and stayed beside him instead. And so, the start of their love story. The love between the two leads was something. Something that is admirable.

The drama's finale was heartbreaking because Yeo Wool has to face her fate of being with Kang Chi. Though she knew it will happen, she chose to stay with the man he loves. Kang Chi left the place after and planned to live as a divine creature. I thought it's already the end of the story but unexpectedy there's "after 422 years, year 2013" and I felt relieved. This is a good finale. Kang Chi was still alive and who is now wealthy met the people from his past through reincarnation I think, and one of them was Yeo Wool, having the same name and character. And that's it. After that meeting was not shown anymore making people like me want more, a season 2 perhaps. But then I also think it's better to leave it there than to ruin the story by prolonging it.

First meeting under the peach tree and crescent moon
First meeting after 422 years under the peach tree and crescent moon

Job very well done for Lee Seung Gi and Suzy. I liked them both since the first drama I watched them. Lee Seung Gi in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho which I liked Shin Min Ah too and which is my top favorite k-drama and Suzy in Dream High which is also in the list of my favorite drama. I admire both of their character in this drama and of course it's because of their good portrayal. I never thought that they'll be a good pair but they do. I hope to see them again in a new drama.

The songs in the drama are good too. Here's some of them with clips of some part of the story.

That Winter The Wind Blows

I just loved the title of this Korean drama. It made me think if the grammar is just correct and analyze the structure and the message of it. What about the winter? what about the wind? It's just funny. And I still keep on thinking what other words can be the title of this out of the words that winter the wind blows.

Bad boy look Kim Bum

Moving on, here's another melodrama that I've recently watch and I liked it. The story is good. Actually I think its better than Missing You. Or, okay they're both great but I prefer this TWTWB . Maybe its because of the story. Its not so dark like in Missing You and there were no boring scenes. I especially like Kim Bum here. His cuteness has turned into handsomeness. Bad boy look suits him.

So the story goes like this. Oh Soo (Jo In Sung) pretended to be the Oh Soo that was the son of the owner of a big company in Korea and who has a blind sister who is Oh Young (Song Hye Gyo). This is to get the shares of the real Oh Soo who died a year after to pay for his debt from an illegal gambler Mr. Kim, who accused him of embezzling his money. Oh Soo did everything to prove to anyone that he's the real Oh Soo that was the brother of Oh Young. It was difficult to tame Oh Young at first but then he got the trust of Oh Young in the end. So they had sweet moments together and they get along very well to the point that they sleep together every night. Unknowingly, during the times that they've been getting along well, Oh Soo's growing feelings for Oh Young and Oh Young to Oh Soo. Knowing that it's wrong, Oh Young asked for some distance to Oh Soo and thought to rush her marriage with her fiance Lee Myung Ho. Oh Soo have also convinced Oh Young to undergo a surgery to treat her brain tumor and blindness. So they set everything, Oh Young's marriage after the surgery. But then, Oh Soo's ex-girlfriend who can't let go of him and who was the real culprit of embezzling the money demanded to go with her to Italy and live together, if not she'll spill the truth to Oh Young that he's not the real Oh Soo her brother but the Oh Soo the conman. Oh Soo didn't come so she immediately called Oh Young to reveal everything and leave for Italy alone. Oh Young became cold to Oh Soo afterwards but didn't confront him. Oh Young's already been aware that people around her are just taking care of her because of her money but she just stayed quiet all those years. One day Oh Soo and Oh Young went on a trip together. That's their last trip together because Oh Soo planned on leaving after Oh Young's surgery. On that trip they have finally confronted each other Oh Soo knowing Oh Young already knew about his identity and Oh Young knowing Oh Soo's identity. Oh Young told Oh Soo to leave when they came back to Seoul. In Seoul, Oh Young have also told Secretary Wang, her stepmother who caused her blindness and embezzled money from their company to leave. She also cancelled her marriage with Lee Myung Ho knowing Secretary Wang and him connived on this. The one that's left with Oh Young was Lawyer Jang who was his father's friend and who truly cared for Oh Young. Oh Young gave money to Oh Soo before he leaves but Oh Soo just took a bundle of it to pay for Jin Sung's (Kim Bum) debt who got involved because of him. On the day of surgery, Oh Young tried to slash her wrist. Fortunately, Oh Soo came and called the doctor immediately. The surgery was set again on another day. Before the surgery having a 50% successful rate, Oh Soo and Oh Young have talked about all the truth and confessed their love. How and why Oh Soo changed to live his life as a decent person because of Oh Young and how Oh Young was hurt but still loves Oh Soo. So they promised that if the surgery is successful they'll see each other again. But then, Oh Soo gambled his life again to free himself from his debt to Mr. Kim. He end up getting stab by Jin Sung who was forced to do it to save his family as per Mr. Kim's condition.

It's so heartwarming and heartbreaking watching the last scenes of the drama. Actually all of the scenes but of course last scenes have more impact. From Young's confession which I understand how she feels (cause I have the habit of putting myself on the actress'/actors' shoe) to Jin Sung's having no choice but to kill Oh Soo whom he's very loyal with. This drama didn't bore me at all. And there are twists which make it more exciting. The love story between the two lead casts was romantic, not cheesy at all.

Gladly, though it looked like a sad story it has a happy ending. You'll thought that Young's surgery wasn't successful and Oh Soo was dead. But no no no! I'm happy cause at least even just a little Oh Young got to see Oh Soo and Oh Soo was alive quietly keeping an eye to Oh Young. And they got to freely love each other.

Happily ever after

Here's some clip of the drama. I also like the songs. It suits the drama, the scenes, the story and everything.
